If you're having issues threading the bolt that attaches the backrest to the seat, try changing the angle of insertion. Here are some tips on getting the angle right:
- The J-bar bolt should be perpendicular to the J-bar stem. The bolt should also be at a 10 to 20-degree angle to the lift.
- Attach the backrest to the seat pan first, then set the seat pan upside down on a table to give yourself enough height to insert the J-bar into the seat pan slot.
- Adjust the angle of the J-bar as needed.
- Turn the bolt left as you insert it into the hole. This will help it catch the threading properly so that it can be screwed in.
